At Whalen Dentistry, we are thrilled to announce our investment in a high-tech CEREC® milling machine. CEREC® is the gold standard in modern, same day dental restoration technology and allows us to design, fabricate, and place restorations in a single visit!
In the past (and in many dental offices still today) getting a dental restoration was quite the inconvenience. Your first appointment would require goopy, messy impressions (yuck) which were then sent off to a lab to have your restoration created. You would then receive an injection and have the tooth prepared for the restoration, and would have a temporary placed while your permanent one was being made. You would need to wear the ill-fitting temporary for several weeks, and then return for another appointment where you would receive another injection, removal of the temporary, and the final placement of the finished product. Are we having fun yet?
Thankfully, with our new CEREC® same day milling machine, we take that whole process, and the equipment and technology of an entire dental lab, and shrink it down into a single piece of chairside technology in our office. CEREC® uses advanced technology to take digital impressions and translate them into digital 3D models. CEREC® then uses these models to create beautiful, high precision restorations right there while you wait. We can prepare your tooth and place your permanent restoration in just one appointment! Now that’s convenient dentistry!
There are many benefits to restoring teeth with CEREC® same day technology, including:
